Bo Porter

On Thursday, the Houston Astros named former Hawkeye standout Bo Porter as their new manager beginning with the 2013 season.  It’s a tremendous opportunity for Porter, who has now reached the pinnacle of the baseball coaching profession! Anthuan Maybank

(This is part of a special series on Hawkeye Olympic medalists.) Believe it or not, George Baird wasn’t the only Hawkeye to win a medal in the 4×400 meter relay.  68 years (and 17 Olympics) after Baird captured gold in the 4×400 meter relay, Anthuan Maybank lined up to run in that exact same event.
