Hawkeye Flashback: 1953 Notre Dame

People have asked me who I’ll be rooting for in the BCS National Championship game on January 7.  On one side, you have Alabama and all the SEC fans who think they’re better than everyone else.  On the other side, there’s Notre Dame, and all their fans who think they’re better than everyone else. Hawkeye Personalities: Gorilla Man

I feel like Iowa basketball needs some good mojo heading into the Big Ten season, so I decided to look back on a unique character who made headlines in the early-1990s – Gorilla Man.  As it turns out, I wasn’t the only one reflecting back on Gorilla Man recently, so at least I know I’m not alone in remembering this guy! All this week, we’ve taken a look back at some of the documentaries that have been made about 1939 Heisman Trophy winner Nile Kinnick (including here, here, and here!)  Today is the fourth and final post on that subject, and we finish by featuring Kinnick’s entry in the Big Ten Network series, Big Ten Icons.
