2013 Iowa Hawkeye Men’s Basketball

Tonight, the 2013 Iowa Hawkeye men’s basketball team plays Baylor for the NIT championship.  Win or lose, it’s the final game of the season for this Hawkeye basketball team, and what a season it has been! 2013 Iowa Hawkeye Men’s Basketball I’ve been thinking about it, and I think that the 2013 team is my favorite Hawkeye men’s basketball team since 2001.  That’s not to say they’re the most talented or the most accomplished.  The 2006 team was a terrific squad that went undefeated at home, finished a game away from a Big Ten regular season title, won the Big…

Random Hash

I hope you’ve been enjoying my special posts celebrating Super Bowl week.  However, I need to interrupt the festivities briefly…with a super edition of Random Hash! Chris Street and Hawkeye Basketball I have to admit…I was very impressed two weeks ago with how the university handled the 20th anniversary of the passing of Chris Street.  The CMS patches on the jerseys and the Chris Street warmup shirts were a great idea, and the crowd clearly rose to the occasion.  You could tell that the Hawkeye fans just weren’t going to let the team lose to Wisconsin.  After the game, the…

Random Hash

I hope everyone had a great holiday season! Let’s get 2013 started right with the year’s first edition of Random Hash! Bowl Season Well, college football’s bowl season ends tonight with the BCS national title game.  The Big Ten sent seven teams to bowl games, and with two of the league’s top teams – Ohio State and Penn State – on probation and ineligible for bowls, the league was at a severe disadvantage.  All seven Big Ten bowl teams entered their games as underdogs.  Yet the Big Ten held its own during bowl season, winning two games and coming up…
