Aaaaaaand I’m back!  After an offseason writing about women’s football, it’s time to get back to talking Hawkeyes!  The season opener for the 2013 Iowa football team is just two weeks away, and excitement is again in the air.  There’s so much to talk about, so let’s get back to talking Hawks with a preseason edition of random hash. Hawkeye Flashback: 1953 Notre Dame

People have asked me who I’ll be rooting for in the BCS National Championship game on January 7.  On one side, you have Alabama and all the SEC fans who think they’re better than everyone else.  On the other side, there’s Notre Dame, and all their fans who think they’re better than everyone else. Hawkeye Personalities: Gorilla Man

I feel like Iowa basketball needs some good mojo heading into the Big Ten season, so I decided to look back on a unique character who made headlines in the early-1990s – Gorilla Man.  As it turns out, I wasn’t the only one reflecting back on Gorilla Man recently, so at least I know I’m not alone in remembering this guy!
